Den franske pianisten Julien Quentin har etablert seg som en allsidig og følsom musiker med stor modenhet og ro. Hans bemerkelsesverdige musikalske dybde og distinkte klarhet i klangen, kombinert med feilfri teknikk, gjør ham ettertraktet både som solist og kammermusiker.

Han har hatt vellykkede debutkonserter i Paris (Salle Cortot), Konservatoriet i Genève og Bargemusic i New York. Som solist har han opptrådt med Wroclaw, Qatar og Córdoba filharmoniske orkestre under dirigenter som Tommaso Placidi, Paul Biss og Han-Na Chang.

Julien Quentin blir jevnlig invitert til en rekke internasjonale festivaler. I Europa har han spilt på festivaler som Verbier, Lucerne, Gstaad, Montreux, Zermatt, Dresden, Braunschweig, Schwetzingen, Ludwigsburg, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Beethovenfest Bonn, Radio France Montpellier og Saint-Denis. I Nord-Amerika har han deltatt på Ravinia, La Jolla og Mostly Mozart Festival i USA. Han har hatt radiosendinger i Canada, USA, Japan og flere europeiske land.

Som ivrig kammermusiker har Quentin samarbeidet med artister som Nicolas Altstaedt, Emanuel Ax, Lisa Batiashvili, Gautier Capuçon, Corey Cerovsek, Martin Fröst, Sol Gabetta, David Garrett, Nelson Goerner, Ilya Gringolts, Gary Hoffman, Lawrence Power, Dmitry Sitkovetsky, Sayaka Shoji, Kirill Troussov og István Várdai.
Han har turnert internasjonalt i Amerika, Australia, Japan, Midtøsten og over hele Europa, og har opptrådt i Concertgebouw i Amsterdam, Wigmore Hall i London, Louvre i Paris, Festspielhaus i Baden-Baden, Berliner Philharmonie, Gewandhaus i Leipzig, Konzerthaus i Wien, Mariinsky-teateret i St. Petersburg, samt i Avery Fisher Hall, Alice Tully Hall og Carnegie Hall i New York. Han har spilt inn musikk for EMI, Channel Classics, Sony RCA, Hungaroton og Decca.

Julien Quentin har også spilt cembalo i konserter med Sarah Chang og Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra, samt med Thomas Quasthoff under ledelse av Leonidas Kavakos.

Født i Paris, begynte Julien Quentin sine studier ved Konservatoriet i Genève med Alexis Golovine. I 2002 fullførte han sin Artist Diploma ved Indiana University under Emile Naoumoff, hvor han også underviste ett år som assistentinstruktør og mottok Presser Award. I 2003 tok han sin Graduate Diploma ved Juilliard School, hvor han studerte med György Sándor. Han har også hatt veiledning fra Paul Badura-Skoda, Nikita Magaloff, György Sebök og Earl Wild.

Julien Quentin bor nå i Berlin. Med konsertserien "Musica Litoralis" på Piano Salon Christophori har han skapt en stadig mer suksessrik konsertserie som minner om salongene fra de glade 1920-årene. I samarbeid med visuelle kunstnere utforsker han nye kunstneriske visjoner og bringer ulike kunstformer sammen.

Han forfølger også sin interesse for andre musikksjangre gjennom samarbeid med pianistene Kelvin Sholar, Kaan Bulak og Francesco Tristano, samt produsentene Adrien de Maublanc og Cesar Merveille i prosjekter som spenner fra improvisasjon til produksjon av elektronisk musikk, særlig i prosjektene Midiminuit og Les Cœurs Brisés.

Regularly invited to numerous international Festivals, Quentin’s appearances in Europe include Verbier, Lucerne, Gstaad, Montreux, Zermatt, Dresden, Braunschweig, Schwetzingen, Ludwigsburg, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Beethovenfest Bonn, Radio France Montpellier and Saint Denis. He also performed on the harpsichord, appearing in concert with Sarah Chang and the Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra, as well as with Thomas Quasthoff and under the baton of Leonidas Kavakos.

Born in Paris, Julien Quentin started his studies at the Geneva Conservatory with Alexis Golovine. In 2002, he completed his Artist Diploma under the tutelage of Emile Naoumoff at Indiana University, where he held a one-year teaching position as Assistant Instructor and was a recipient of the Presser Award. In 2003, he received his Graduate Diploma from the Juilliard School, where he studied with György Sándor. He has also worked with Paul Badura-Skoda, Nikita Magaloff, György Sebök and Earl Wild.

Julien Quentin now lives in Berlin. With ‘Musica Litoralis’ at Piano Salon Christophori, he has managed to create an increasingly successful concert series reminiscent of the salons of the Roaring Twenties. With visual artists, he explores new artistic visions bringing various art forms together. He also pursues his interest in other genres of music through his collaboration with pianists Kelvin Sholar, Kaan Bulak and Francesco Tristano, or producers Adrien de Maublanc and Cesar Merveille in projects ranging from improvisation to producing electronic music, most notably within their new projects Midiminuit & Les Coeurs Brisés.
